Privacy Statement

Uniondale Community Council (UCC) strongly believes in protecting the privacy and integrity of personally identifiable information gathered from visitors to our website. Because the protection of your privacy is important to us, we have created this policy and posted it in a prominent location on our website to communicate our information collection and dissemination practices. As we add more features and services to our site and as new laws regarding the use of the Internet develop, we may update this privacy policy. We do not anticipate, however, making significant policy changes that would diminish our commitment to protect the privacy of visitors to our website.

What Information We Collect

You are not required to share personally identifiable information to use Uniondale Community Council's (UCC) website. Personally identifiable information refers to data that can be linked to a specific individual, such as a name, address, phone number, or email address. Most sections of the UCC website can be accessed without disclosing your identity or providing any personally identifiable information.

Using commercially available statistical reporting software, UCC analyzes numeric Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to monitor trends, manage the website, track visitor movement and click-through behavior, and gather broad demographic information about the audience that is not personally identifiable. This information assists our staff in understanding site usage patterns, as well as the types of content and information that may enhance your experience on our site.

We collect personally identifiable information when you make a donation to UCC online and when you request additional information to be delivered electronically or via mail. We never collect personally identifiable information without your explicit permission, and we only gather information that is absolutely necessary to facilitate the requested action.

Parental Controls

We understand that parents/guardians and caregivers prioritize the privacy of their families, particularly that of their children. While UCC's website is not specifically designed for children, it aligns with established guidelines for ensuring the privacy of children. In our context, children are defined as individuals under the age of thirteen.

We adhere to a policy where we do not collect online contact or personal information about children without obtaining prior parental consent or providing parental notification. This notification includes an opportunity for the parent to prevent the use of the information and the child's participation in the activity. In the absence of prior consent, online information is solely used to respond directly to the child's request and is not utilized for other purposes. Additionally, this information is not shared with third parties, publicly posted, or distributed in any way without prior parental consent. We take precautions to ensure that no actions are taken to entice a child, through the promise of a special game, prize, or activity, to disclose more information than is necessary for participation in the given activity.

Emails You Send to UCC

If you choose to correspond with UCC  through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received by mail and telephone. Any email we receive is read only by those individuals who are essential to answering the question(s) presented. As a general rule, you should never send personal health, financial or other sensitive information via email.

Disclosure to Third Parties

Personally identifiable data can only be accessed by authorized UCC personnel and its agents. We preserve the confidentiality, security and integrity of that information. We never share, sell, transfer or disclose personal information to third parties.
